Happy Independence Day Weekend!
Featuring One Of The Many Things That Can Go Wrong With Firecrackers
It's Independence Day weekend here in the United States. For us Americans that means family, barbecue and, of course, fireworks and firecrackers!
Firecrackers can be fun, but they’re also dangerous. If you live someplace where they’re legal, please use care.
Here's a fun poem about one of the many things that can go wrong with firecrackers.
I Shot a Rocket in The Air
By Tom Masson (1866–1934)
I shot a rocket in the air;
It fell to earth, I knew not where
Until next day, with rage profound
The man it fell on came around.
In less time than it takes to tell
He showed me where that rocket fell
And now I do not greatly care
To shoot more rockets in the air.
